Is Yapbar free?

How do I create an account?

Choose Join on the home page, enter your name, email and mobile number, verify the one-time passwords and choose a password. Then complete your profile so people can find you.

You can use Yapbar in English and the major Indian languages, and you can filter your feed and news by the languages you read.

What is the difference between a personal and a corporate account?

A personal account is for individuals. A corporate account is for people who represent a business: it can create a company page, post jobs and run advertising once the company is verified.

How do I reset my password?

On the sign-in screen choose Forgot password. We send a one-time password to your registered email or mobile number so you can set a new one.

How do I make my account more secure?

Use a long, unique password and turn on two-factor authentication in Settings. Never share one-time passwords with anyone, including people who claim to be from Yapbar.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings → Account and choose Delete account. Your personal data is erased or anonymised as described in our Privacy Policy, except where the law requires us to keep it.

Someone is using my identity. What should I do?

Report the profile using Report → Impersonation. If you also lost money or sensitive data, report it at cybercrime.gov.in or call 1930.

Do you sell my data?

Never. We do not sell personal data and we do not read private messages to target advertising. Advertisers only see aggregated results.

You decide. In Settings → Privacy choose who can find you, view your profile, see your connections and message you.

What do verification badges mean?

A badge shows that a specific fact was checked, such as identity, employer or company registration. Open any badge to see who issued it, how and until when.

Can I just buy a badge?

No. The identity check is free; the public Verified person badge is a paid subscription; payment never replaces the check. The badge shows only while you have both a successful e-KYC and a live plan. If the plan lapses the badge is paused and returns when you renew, without a new check. Paying never changes your feed order, fact-checks or other badges.

How do I verify my identity?

Open Verify from the menu and follow the steps. We confirm that your government-issued ID matches your name. We do not store your full ID number.

How does a company get verified?

A corporate account holder adds the company’s GSTIN, which is checked with the GST registry, and then completes the company wizard. Verified companies show a badge. Companies that make or create in India can also apply for the Made in India badge.

Why was my badge removed?

Badges end when they expire, when the facts change or when they were obtained through false information. You receive the reason and can appeal. See the Verification Policy.

How do I verify my e-mail?

After you sign up we send a 6-digit code to your e-mail. Enter it within 10 minutes. You get 5 attempts per code, and you can request a new one after 30 seconds. Until you verify, some features stay limited.

What is a corporate account and why a work e-mail?

A corporate account is for employees acting for a company. It needs a work e-mail: personal webmail, disposable, shared mailboxes (info@, hr@), educational and government domains are not accepted. Only a verified corporate account can later create a company page.

Why was my e-mail rejected?

The message under the e-mail field tells you the exact reason. Studying or teaching? Join as a Citizen and apply for the Student or Educator badge. Government official? Join as a Citizen and use the Government official verification.

How does Aadhaar identity verification work?

It is voluntary. You enter your Aadhaar number, confirm a one-time code sent to your linked mobile, and a licensed partner confirms your name. We never store or show the Aadhaar number, only a masked reference.

Open a job and choose Apply. Applying is always free for candidates. You can track every application from Jobs → Applications.

Verify your company, then choose Post a job from the Jobs page. Posting uses a job credit from a pack or a company plan.

Never. Genuine employers do not charge candidates. If anyone asks you for money, report the job and see Safety.

Yes. Reading, posting, connecting, messaging people you know, applying for jobs and all feed controls are free and stay free. Paid plans add capacity or convenience, or cover the cost of a check.

No. Personal accounts cannot buy reach and there is no ranking to game. Businesses can run clearly labelled ads, which are separate from the order of the feed.

Yes. Prices shown to you include GST, and the GST split is shown on checkout and on your invoice. You get a GST invoice for each payment.

What happens after a post is challenged?

When enough people challenge it, certified fact-checkers review it (two independent reviewers must agree) and attach a verdict with sources. Posts are never quietly removed or pushed down. The author can respond, edit and appeal.

Can I upload a video?

No. We don’t host video. You can share a YouTube video or Short by pasting its link into a post. It appears as an embedded card with a poster image and plays only when you press play.

Does viewing a post with a video contact YouTube?

Not until you press play. The poster image is served by us, so scrolling past or opening a post never contacts Google. Pressing play loads the YouTube player, which follows YouTube’s own privacy terms.

Which video links work?

Public YouTube videos and Shorts (youtube.com and youtu.be links). Other links show as a normal link preview. Private or removed videos show a message instead of a player.

Do videos follow the same rules as other posts?

Yes. Reports, fact-check challenges and the Community Guidelines apply to a post with an embedded video exactly as they do to text. Removing a post removes the embed from our side.

How do I spot a fake job?

Be wary of jobs that ask for money, a deposit or an OTP, that only use WhatsApp or Telegram, or that use a personal e-mail. Applying is always free. Flag the job and report it.

What if a company never replies?

Every job has a response deadline. After it passes you can flag the job as non-responsive. Enough flags open a staff review; fraud flags take the job down at once; staff can pause new posts.
